The Underground serves 270 stations and has 402 kilometres of track, 45 per cent of which is underground. It is the fourth largest metro system in the world in terms of route miles. It also has one of the largest numbers of stations. In 2007, more than one billion passenger journeys were recorded, and in the year 2016/17 passenger numbers were just under 1.37 billion making it the third busiest metro system in Europe.
TFL are responsible for the maintenance, renewal and upgrade of 100 tube stations accounting for over a 1/3 of the entire Tube network. As part of this huge responsibility Henny Limited have been contracted by TFL to undertake the day-to-day repairs to wall and floor tiling at numerous tube stations across the network.
We carry a vast stock of new, heritage and obsolete tiles and terrazzo to ensure a perfect match.
Most of our work takes place in the early hours, when the Tube trains stop running, enabling up to 1.9 million people to continue travelling every day.
